Overview
of Aikido

Aikido Screensavers

1) MIND and BODY COORDINATION
Mind and Body Coodination through the Four Major Principles, namely
*Keep One Point
*Relax Completely
*Keep Weight Underside
*Extend Ki

By following these principles, even a beginner can experience Mind and Body Co-ordination. This co-ordination becomes infinitely deeper with training.

2) AIKIDO with MIND & BODY UNIFIED
An advanced application of Ki development as well as a form of Martial Arts. The arts are an expression of Mind and Body coordination in motion which do not depend on age, sex, physical size or strength. It is a balanced, full-body form of movements, ideal for both adults and children to enjoy without strain or injury.

Unification of Mind and Body during motion is not easy. It is even more difficult when we are faced with problems or attacked by others. AIKIDO with Mind and Body Co-ordination trains us to maintain physical relaxation and mental calmness under pressure thus promoting better self-control, productivity and leadership in daily life.

3) KI EXERCISE
When standing or sitting still, it is relatively easy to coordinate Mind and Body. When we move, it becomes increasingly difficult. Ki Development exercises teach us how to maintain this coordination in our daily activities including Self Defence.

4) KI BREATHING
When we are stressful, nervous or upset, our breathing is constricted and shallow. The Ki Breathing exercises help to promote relaxation, health and physical vitality.

5) KI MEDITATION
This practice enables us to fully develop unification of Mind and Body more deeply. It is not a "religious practice".

6) KIATSU (THERAPY)
A method of healing by stimulating the Ki flow. It can also be used to improve overall Ki Circulation for maintaining Good Health. The therapy uses No Force and is therefore free of negative side effects. Many of the students have benefited from the basic treatments, which are practised by Ki No Kenkyukai members not only in Singapore but worldwide.
